Welcome to the 2nd Edition of Basketball on the Sea

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine playing basketball on Princess Cruises’ beautiful new ship, The Royal Princess. Set to launch in June, this exquisite addition to the Princess line will be able to comfortably accommodate as many as 3600 passengers with exciting new innovations and signature features including a state of the art, center court, where basketball history will be made.

Now stop imagining and mark your calendar for December 1st when Basketball on the Seas comes to Princess Cruises for the very first time with a championship on its newest and most exciting ship, The Royal Princess.

2nd Edition of Basketball on the Sea
We had such a fabulous time the first time that we have decided to do it again!

Once you have completed the initial booking process for your cruise, it’s time to register your team for the big event. Each Player Registration Fee is u$d 150. Teams should have 6 to 8 players, men and women, any age starting on 30. The games will be played at the Center Court, located at the very heart of the ship’s activity deck.

The final games will be played on the day before we get back.

About the former edition 2011:

Basketball on the Sea 2011 was a first open tournament on the ship Oasis of the Sea TM (by Royal Caribbean).

Date: November 26 -  December 3, 2011

Only the worlds’s largest and most spectacular cruise Ships on the planet was big enough to host FIMBA’s newest basketball championship, Basketball on the High Seas.

At more than 1100 feet, the Oasis of the Seas® was longer than 11 football fields and taller than a 24 story building. Larger than a small city, the Oasis of the Seas® was apable of comfortably carrying more than 6000 passengers and is serviced by a crew of 2000.

Only a pioner players were part of our very first championship at sea where teams comprised of both male and female players with a mixture of ages will be competing against each other for the honor of being FIMBA’s very first champions of the high seas.

Our championship cruise were sets sail on 26 November 2011 from Ft Lauderdale, Florida for seven glorious days. When not on the basketball courts, they were had the opportunity to enjoy several exciting Caribbean ports of call including Jamaica, Cozomel Mexico and Royal Carribean’s own private island of Labadee.
